Valentine’s Day Warms Winter Sunshine

556,628 days ago, circling the sun 1,524 times, in the rich black volcanic soil that is Italy, The Feast of Saint Valentine was established by Pope Gelasius on February 14th in honor of Saint Valentine, who ministered Christians in the face of the Roman Empire and married Christian soldiers, which was forbidden.  The legend goes Valentine gave sight to the blind daughter of one of his jailers. The tradition was hijacked with Cupid’s arrows in the 15th century when knights expressed nobility and chivalry on this honored day.  Then in the 18th century the story grew, Saint Valentine sent the blind girl a card before his execution, and signed it, “Your Valentine.”  The English then began the tradition of cards, flowers, and candy in 1700’s., and now it has grown to an economic monster, 20.7 billion in consumer spending; up 6% from last year.  It’s never enough growth, but, instead let us measure in kind, selfless, and loving acts that will be done on this one day in the Western World, where winter holds a frigid grip.

There are 35.5 million students in the US from prekindergarten to grade 8.  Let’s be conservative and take half that estimate, and half that estimate for those that may make cards, so 8 million.  That’s quite an amazing feet to generate that kind of spark between students, teachers, parents, coaches, and neighbors.  Who doesn’t feel a bounce in their step, feeling special, loved, after receiving a Valentine card, no one.  The tradition continues, feeling lighter on your feet, in love, and going out to special couple’s only romantic dinner; fueling the pockets of lonely cooks and servers who will act up after the dinner bell rings, last call.  Let us not forget the 2.3 million seniors that live in care facilities dressed in their best pink, red, and purple.  If we break it down further, 19% of all seniors live in Florida, almost 9 million enjoying a sunny day, low humidity, average temp 72, and awaiting their Valentine’s social event at the VFW or senior center, to spread love, moments of joy.

The heavy hitter in the arrow arsenal, says, “till death do us part,” 61 million married couples in the US.  I’m sure some have their own traditions, emulating a past highlight of Valentine’s Day and others may trudge through the motions of a mandatory Visa charge for red roses.  Either way, let’s just cut it in half, close with the divorce rate, 42-45%, so 30 million.  Imagine how many kisses, hugs, kind words, and acts are expressed to a significant other that have substance, but ironically, take little effort.  Partners willing being their best, why, because they have hearts, they are divine.  Humanity doesn’t run from a burning building when a child cries out from the 2nd story, if they did, survival of the fittest would ring true.  Instead we exhibit true belief, empathy, love, and godliness in each-other, risking our life for another in need of help, of love.

Of course not everyone is hurting so much they are stuck in a World Trade Tower, with no choice but to jump, maybe though, their thoughts are negative and hurtful.  Isn’t it amazing that school children, married couples, and seniors account for 43 million Americans participating in acts of kindness on the same day, increasing a vibration in love for those who get by with a little help from their friends!  That’s quite event of the global brain, with most plugged into a metamorphic resonance.  I think that’s something worth celebrating on 02-14-2020, which breaks down to a 2 in numerology.

The #2 is the most feminine in Numerology, the idea that the universe is a system and once broken down we are left with the basic elements, which are numbers. It represents being gentle, tactful, diplomatic, forgiving and understanding.  Keeping the peace and avoiding confrontation are characteristics of the 2. This rings true on Valentine’s Day.  The #2 can be demanding at times but is worth the trouble, the juice is worth the squeeze.  Reminds me of a Chris Rock stand-up, “If you hadn’t thought about killing your significant other, you ain’t in love,” love so much it hurts.

On the 14th of February, in the last throws of winter’s frost, shines a day with love and light.  A smile, a smirk, a giggle, or eye contact to one of our own; recognizing the power we hold to let love live.  The simple gesture of a Valentine’s card has a significant impact on humanity when we combine the numbers and their symbolic, galactic, and higher power resources that we can resonate 10 fold.  Who would of thought; the expanse of affection, friendship, passion, respect, and devotion we share for each other.  Keep distributing the high five’s humanity, every February 14th!
