LeBron Back Home to the Cavaliers?

With NBA trade deadline 67 days away a hometown fan can dream.  The LeBron’s hold a record of 12-12, holding down the 8th spot in the West; while the Cavs are 13-11, good enough for the 7th seed in the East, sounds like a match made for retirement.  The Russel Westbrook experiment hasn’t yielded a desirable response in La La Land and the King needs another Ring!  With so much young talent Koby Altman, Cavaliers GM, should throw out a low ball offer to see if the “Chosen One” would consider waving his no-trade clause.  I’m betting he’s considering his options just like he runs “Showtime” in the Staples Center.

James is in his 19th season and the Lakers are short on talent, bench players, and an easy path to the dance.  The Cavs on the other hand, are primed to turn on a playoff push, playing with house money, and becoming defined by the roles each man has assumed; consummating in a JB Bickerstaff sautéed special.  With scoring threat Colin Sexton sidelined for the rest of the season and not extended, he would be my main course offered to L.A.  Would they possibly take Kevin Love?  Probably not but an AD, Russell, Love, and Sexton squad next year would consummate a well-oiled machine lead by Westbrook with each players role defined.

Akron’s #23 teamed up with a true point guard in Darius Garland and Ricky Rubio could possibly paint the floor of the Rocket Mortgage Field House with Andrew Pollack dips and daps reminiscent of the King’s 1st tour through The Land; when watching the NBA was poetry in motion.  The “paint” is already spoken for with the signing of Jarret Allen and rookie Evan Mobley, Cleveland’s Terminal Towers, and double double machines.  The wings are protected by Cedi, Okoro, and newest addition Markkanen.  3 point shooters Wade and Windler can snipe the Wilson, and the pine also holds a feisty Denzel Valentine and tough guy Lamar Stevens to back up the guards.

Looking at the 4 time champs new extension, 2yrs at $85 million, ending in 2023, I’m not sure the Cavs can handle the cap space but who knows; numbers move in mysterious ways.  Ending with one more Championship for the Wine and Gold, in addition to a dream of playing with his son on a professional hardwood, why not up the road from Goodyear?  Sounds to be good to be true but hey, to quote Pete, from the movie Rudy, “My dad says, having dreams is what makes life worth living.”  The Jetstream makes it easy to fly east and home, everyone comes home a 3rd time.  Or maybe L.A. will be out of water and on fire; Climate Change Brings Hometown Icon Back to his Castle, reads the future Plain Dealer Blog.  I need something to get through the winter.
