It’s been 523 days since MAGA patriots, Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, QAnon followers such as Jacob Chansley, the “QAnon Shaman”, and a lot of our neighbors numbered in the thousands according to every news source minus Fox and the President, (tens of thousands, “hundreds of thousands you can’t see them back there”) and heard the rally call, “We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore,” from the 45th man to lead the Free World. The President started his speech at noon declaring, “We will never give up, we will never concede, it doesn’t happen, you don’t concede when there’s theft involved,” pointing the finger at the radical Left, Fake News, and Big Tech, (which he bragged about beating in 2016 moments before, true). In 2016 I was a Trump supporter but in the debates with Hillary when asked by Fox news anchor Chris Wallace, “That you will absolutely accept the result of this election?” His response, “I will look at it at the time. I’m not looking at anything now,” left me feeling Un-American, but he rescinded at the next debate when asked again by Lester Holt, (can we bring back the Flip-Flop chant). The seed of doubt, a rigged election, had been planted from the get go to avoid the humiliation of a Hillary win; which all polls where predicting. The thing was D.C. hadn’t realized how far they’d pushed everyday Americans over Clinton, Bush, and Obama in 24yrs, Trump was the middle finger.
Being a Democrat from NYC most of his life, I figured he was the Real Estate tycoon to make deals on both sides of the aisle. I prayed he’d start with infrastructure with the donkeys and put his name all over the USA. His grassroots, social media campaign, and name calling gave voice to the noninvolved eligible voter. Endless clips on cable news, Tweets, YouTube, Facebook, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, and family kept him in our top 10 thoughts on repeat. Then, on November 3rd, 2020, he lost.
The president’s only evidence in the speech, were the vote totals and yes they were high, but only 66.6% of the Republic voted in a pandemic. I know of a handful of life long Republicans that voted Democrat for the first time and this definitely wasn’t the fraud I saw in the 2000 Election. Mr. Trump continued with such comments as, “Does anybody believe Joe Biden had 80 million votes? “He had 80 million computer votes, it’s a disgrace. There’s never been anything like that.” “You can take 3rd world countries, just take a look at 3rd world countries, their elections are more honest then what we’ve been going through in this country. It’s a disgrace,” (he further uses the metaphor of chickens with their heads cut off, ha). I thought MyPillow CEO, Mike Lindel, had the hard data evidence, I mean how could a person say such a thing, but he was bamboozled in South Dakota as Christian music blared in the parking lot, George Soros videos played on loop, actual experts left immediately because he was bullshitting, and never paid the $5 million if you could prove him wrong, (currently being sued for $1 Billion from Dominion). If the lie is so outrageous and repeated, the mind tends to submit. I mean how could the opposite be true?
The insurrection into the capital on January 6th was seditious. I’m not a fan of the government but I respect the DOJ’s conviction rate and would not put my freedom on the line when the lawsuits had been thrown out of court by 10 appointed Trump judges. The Cyber Ninja’s reassured a fair and free Biden win; after months in Arizona waiting for the hammer to drop. Bill Barr, former AG, said, “Bullshit,” to the President at Thursday’s prime time hearing. His daughter, Ivanka, reaffirmed to the committee the AG’s statement, “I respect Attorney General Barr, so I accepted what he was saying,” only to get hit on Truth Social, (Trump Twitter) “Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying Election results. She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Bar and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!).”
Kellyanne Conway, former Trump campaign manager, made her rounds through cable news this week promoting her book, Here’s the Deal, which I caught on Real Time and the Daily Show, two left leaning programs. When pressed on whether she told the President he lost, her response was staunch, resolute, and never pivoted, “I may have been the first person Donald Trump trusted in his inner circle who told him that he had come up short this time,” she stated with confidence that she wheeled into the ongoing joke of gas prices from Bill Maher. And, yes, the GOP stays on message but she’s not wrong in a sense of what is hurting average people which translates into what they give a fuck about; hearings of sedition, coup, or my Co-vid money is running out and gas is $5, no baby formula, record high inflation, and a summer of drought, hurricanes, and fire. The loud mouth, want to be, comic in me says, “When’s that trip scheduled to the Kingdom, Joe Scranton?” “Well you know nothing in the books…,” cut off; “You better get on Air Force One, have a filet with mushroom sauce, take those meds, and cross the moral boundaries of freedom of the press.” The Big Tymer’s, Still Fly, was long time ago, but I need more than a quarter tank of gas.

He deserves it.” One of the most conservative hard right entities, (I heard he calls his wife mother, ha) was labelled a traitor. And by who, Proud Boys who give conspiracy theorists like me a bad name, also the President, but do we serve justice or have prime-time specials for 20 million, the size of Sunday night football game on NBC? My super Trump friends forget he halted weapons to the Ukraine for Biden dirt. Or that the wall was never finished and Mexico definitely didn’t pay for it. He did make the USA the #1 producer of energy, put hard tariffs on China that all Americans agree with, and even met with the “Rocket Man” in North Korea. But he blew healthcare, the victory on ISIS, and the China virus, (Although to all my left leaning friends, those vaccines were pushed through FDA on his watch).
Darth Vader’s daughter, Liz Cheney, now labeled a traitor was one of two GOP members on the committee but she struck like Dick, and specifically brought up a felony, 18 U.S. Code § 1512, “Whoever corruptly … obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding, or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.” That law defines an “official proceeding” as including “a proceeding before the Congress.” There you have it, the only person with “balls” beside Kellyanne Conway. But the Donald is like the fictional character, Bobby Axelrod, on the show Billions; you can prosecute, but won’t win, either way.
A country divided cannot stand and it astounds me that adults are fooled by the Us Vs. Them. These are our neighbors, co-workers, Americans, in short, family; the erosion of a prosperous shining city on the Hill, that has led to tent cities in our nation’s biggest cities, a dissolved dream of being a homeowner, drug overdoses and suicides cutting the life expectancy down, 60% of our neighbors can’t afford a $500 unexpected bill, manufacturing jobs lost, towns wiped from the rust belt, inflation, (we’re finally paying for), and for the love of God Bless America, the shootings did not begin happening from 2016-2020. This was a long time coming and Trump was the only asshole to push all Americans. I mean Bush was selected in a real stolen election, the worst attack on American soil, Afghanistan, Iraq, (no nation building Haliburton?), and the brink of the world financial system collapse but nobody bum rushed the capital. But they had every right too!
A year and half later the democrats are in power and after two failed impeachments they may get another run at it. That is if the justice department brings charges after the hearings. My guess, they lined this up for the midterms but way too late. If I’m running a new administration after this bullshit I’m walking out with the bible in my hand, clearing protesters with my other, and declaring the streets free of “them.” But that leads to more, “Let me tell you about so and so who is ruining my life, and America.” January 6th was surreal as we watched glued to our smartphones more than TV’s like 9/11, but we couldn’t look away. All of US have had that inside for too long. The richest nation in existence should be able to pay rent, put food on the table, provide education and healthcare, promote innovation, business, art, free speech, God given rights, and have freedom of religion; a separation of church and state. We’re the oldest experiment to date, fragile, and sitting on top of the world, let’s get along, make amends, have a drink, and live off the interest.
